Area youths got a chance to enjoy “A Day on the Wild Side” July 25 at Winous Point, America’s oldest hunt club, located in Port Clinton.
The event, sponsored by the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District, in cooperation with Winous Point Marsh Conservancy, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, was open to fifth- through eighth-graders.
Throughout the day, the participants had fun fishing, shooting, taking water samples, banding birds, trying archery, taking punt boat rides and more. They also received goody bags filled with outdoor gear, mostly donated by sponsor Mossy Oak. Visit www.ottawaswcd.com for more info.
