Kids Days @ Hayes Farm Day set for July 24
Kids can interact with live animals, make ice cream and butter and learn about gardening during Kids Days @ Hayes Farm Day on Saturday, July 24, at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, located at the corner of Hayes and Buckland avenues, Fremont.
The event will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on the Hayes Presidential grounds, called Spiegel Grove.
Shooting Star Farms will bring a petting zoo with animals kids likely would see at a farm. Butter and ice cream, which the kids will learn to make, are also farm staples.
Kids also will learn about gardening at Spiegel Grove, which was once a working farm. President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes raised cows and chickens and also tended a garden on the property.
Tickets are $5 for Hayes Presidential members at the major level and higher and $7 for non-members. There is no cost for adults who bring kids to this program. Tickets are available at rbhayes.org/events/2021/07/24/events/kids-days-hayes-farm-day/.
This event is geared toward kids in fourth through sixth grades, but kids of all ages are welcome.
The sponsor for this Kids Days @ Hayes event is Westview Veterinary Hospital.
