JoAnne Echelbarger

JoAnne Echelbarger, 69, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at ProMedica Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio, after a short battle with cancer. She was born July 23, 1954 in Oregon, Ohio, to Eugene “Bud” and Bessie (Reid) Swift.

JoAnne graduated from Genoa Area High School in 1972. She married Ray L. Echelbarger on November 18, 1972. They had many wonderful years together. JoAnne was never long without a dog or two in her home, from Rottweilers to St. Bernards to Poodles, she loved all dogs. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and made many homemade items as gifts for friends and family. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband; her son, Don Echelbarger; her daughter, Brandi (Moe) McCallum; her grandchildren, Jon McCallum, Katelyn McCallum (Kyle Sweeney), Liberty McCallum, and Levi McCallum; and her great grandchildren, Declan Sweeney and Luna Sweeney; her sister, Judy A. Bonecutter; nephew, Dan Bonecutter; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and brother-in-law, Chuck Bonecutter.

Her family wants to thank the staff at ProMedica Toledo Hospital GEN 6 PCU and ProMedica Hospice in Sylvania for their care and compassion. There will be no services.
