Hotel, restaurant plans at Schedel discussed
Preliminary site plans for the construction of a hotel and restaurant at the Schedel Arboretum and Gardens were discussed Tuesday at a meeting of the planning and environment/economic development committee of Elmore Village Council.
Dave Hower, village administrator/zoning inspector, said the plans include a 60-unit hotel and restaurant adjacent to an existing parking lot near W. Portage River South Road.
Personnel from Schedels didn’t attend the meeting but Hower said he’s discussed the project with Rod Noble, its executive director.
“NAI Harmon Group is going to be the developer and we haven’t had a meeting yet with them. Rod and I are working to get that together,” Hower said. “The village is in the process of annexing that whole area to extend sewers that are wanted.”
He said a new banquet/reception pavilion is also being planned.
