Hess, Colangelo coach in district all-star soccer game

Clay girls soccer coach Don “Duck” Hess and Woodmore coach Lauren Colangelo joined St. Marys coach Nick Wilson and Central Catholic coach Kassie Memmer, the daughter of Genoa boys coach Tim Memmer, in the 18th Annual Senior All-District All-Star Game.

The boys and girls all-star games, hosted by the Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association, were played Sunday, Nov. 15 at Napoleon High School’s Buckenmeyer Stadium. Any seniors who are selected to the 2020 all-district squads are eligible.

Girls players from the eastern Maumee Bay community listed on the roster included Taylor Simmons (Genoa), Bella Mabry (Clay), and Sidney Gillig (Woodmore).

Boys all-star game players include Aidan Wamer (Lake) and Keeghan Calkins (Clay). The boys team was coached by St. John’s coaches Kirk Brazeau and Greg McElroy, Bluffton coach Steve Smucker and Defiance coach Eric Burns.
