Hayes Presidential offering free admission on Presidents Day

        Celebrate Presidents’ Day with free admission and activities on Monday, Feb. 20, at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, America’s first presidential library, located in Fremont.
        Hayes Presidential will be open from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and offer a day-long celebration.
        Visitors can take a free, self-guided tour of the museum and sign up for a free tour of the first floor of the Hayes Home. Tours last a half hour.
        Hayes Home tours will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and no advance reservations are taken. The last tour will depart at 4:30 p.m.
        The research library will be closed for the holiday.
        The schedule of events is as follows:
        • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Free museum admission.
        • 9:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. – Free 30-minute tours of the Hayes Home are offered every 15 minutes. Tours are of the first floor only. Anyone interested in a tour must check in at the museum to receive a tour time and ticket.
        •10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Craft activities and scavenger hunt in the museum.
        • 10 a.m. – Artifact display in the museum.
        • 11 a.m. – Presidential trivia in the museum.
        • 11:30 a.m. – Story time in the museum auditorium.
        • 1 p.m. – Presidential trivia in the museum.
        • 1 to 4 p.m. – Horse-drawn sleigh rides by South Creek Clydesdales. (Sleigh rides will also be offered on Sunday, Feb. 19.) Tickets are available at rbhayes.org.
        • 1:30 p.m. – Storytime in the museum
        • 2 p.m. – Artifact display in the museum.
        • 3 p.m. – Presidential trivia in the museum.
        The Presidents’ Day Celebration is sponsored by the Knight Baldwin Charitable Fund, Inc.
