Growing vegetables for a cause
Prakash Thombre and his wife, Kyrmen, grow unique vegetables on their plot along Corduroy Road, Oregon. Many of the vegetables and herbs have Asiatic roots and are known for their health benefits and medicinal value. Pictured, Thombre with sunflowers (some measuring over 18 inches in diameter), that will be harvested and dried for sunflower oil. Donations for the vegetables go to the non-profit organization, Educational Uplift Minority, which provides educational opportunity for under-privileged children, many who are caught in the cycle of human trafficking.
