Griffin, Tressel to speak
“The Ohio State Legends" Archie Griffin and Jim Tressel will speak at the First Annual “Journey for All Kids” benefit on Friday, June 14 at Journey’s Family Amusement Center, 1811 Dickinson Street, Fremont. A portion of the proceeds will go to Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Tressel won an NCAA Division I national championship as coach at Ohio State and as a running back, Griffin was a two-time Heisman Trophy winner, the only player ever to accomplish that.
This benefit will help children and families; but specifically those with disabilities, or financial needs.
“Journey’s has witnessed firsthand these individuals get deprived of the simple pleasure that others may take for granted…laughter, smiles, and simply having fun,” states a press release.
Over the past 11 years, Journey’s has donated over $70,000 to different charities, groups, organizations, churches, schools, county agencies and families.
Over the past 11 years, Journey’s donated over 1,000 free parties, play passes and inflatables to area foster, and adopted children in Sandusky County through the Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS), the Fremont Liberty Center (Homeless Shelter) and other organizations, not to mention other benefits, businesses, and agencies who have contacted Journey’s for donations over the years.
The event will include food, autograph sessions and pictures, silent auction and tours, a grand auction and Chinese action. Pre-sale tickets available only. Tickets are $75 and a table of eight is $500. Call 419-332-5322.
