The Friends of Oak Harbor Library are sponsoring a fundraiser and raffle for the library to coincide with the Ohio Open Door Historic weekend Sept. 10-12.
A basket featuring Oak Harbor historic memorabilia will be raffled, with tickets costing $5 each or three for $10. Tickets will be available at the Oak Harbor Library, 147 W. Main St., Aug. 22-Sept. 10.
The basket will feature a 65-year-old intact jar of Pure Gold Weller’s Pickles, along with commemorative plates featuring Oak Harbor landmarks and churches, promotional items from many historic businesses, baseball caps, the book “Images of Ohio, Oak Harbor” by local historians, a model of the first library in Oak Harbor, and gift certificates to local businesses.
The basket will be on display at the library after Aug. 22.
On Sept. 10 at 1 p.m., historians John Liske and Dick Martin will present a lecture at the library on “Oak Harbor Then and Now.” The raffle drawing will follow. Ticketholders need not be present to win.
