Frederick John Hasselkus

Frederick John Hasselkus, 76, Mission Viejo, CA entered into eternal life on May 5, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 27, 1945, in Toledo. Ohio, to Frederick A. Hasselkus and Helen J. (Hardy) Hasselkus.

Fred graduated from Harris Elmore High School in 1963 and attended Davis Business School. He served in the Army from February, 1969 until February, 1971.

He enjoyed a 41 year career with Ford Motor Credit Company with assignments in the Southeastern Region, the North Atlantic Region and retiring in 2007 as the District Manager of the Western Region.

While living in Elmore, Ohio, he was elected to the Village City Council and served one year as the President of the Council. He also served on the Board of Public Affairs.  Fred was a 32 degree Mason and a 44 year member of Portage Lodge No. 351, now the Phoenix Lodge 123 and the Zenobia Shriners.

Fred and his wife, Judi (Appelhans), celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 10 2021. They raised two sons; Frederick Jason, Laguna Niguel, CA and Ryan Philip (Amanda), Mission Viejo, CA, and have six grandchildren; Jaden, Avery, Ainsley, Eleanor, MaKayla and Sterling. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Kruse of Elmore. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Howard Hasselkus and Judy Oberski.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11 a.m at the Harris Elmore Union Cemetery by Rev. Robert Rakay of St. Paul’s Trinity United Methodist Church.
