Dennis J. Lewinski

Dennis J. Lewinski (Denny), age 77, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022.  He was born on February 17, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Warren G. and Beulah E. (Sherry) Lewinski. Dennis was a 1963 graduate of Clay High School and served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. He married Sandra Monroe on October 18, 1968 and together they started their family. Dennis worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Oregon. He also served as a volunteer fireman for the City of Oregon, serving over 20 years as assistant engineer, working out of Station #1. 

Dennis had made many friends over the years and was known for his contagious laughter. He loved spending time outdoors with his friends and listening to blue grass music. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his horse; Dancer, snowmobiles and his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will be dearly missed. 

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Lewinski; children, Amy Orris, and James Lewinski; grandchildren, Chelsie, Mallori, and Jason; his sister, Susan (Douglas) Gardner; brother-in-law, Donnie Monroe; sisters-in-law, Charlene Dixon and Pam Monroe and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, December 30, 2022 consisting of VFW Military and Fireman’s Service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s choice.
