You take your attitude with you

Imagine always wearing really dark sunglasses everywhere you go. Anywhere you looked you would see objects darker than they really were. This false perspective of your world would taint everything you saw. As long as you were wearing the sunglasses, it’s impossible to get away from this altered view of reality.
Your attitude works the same way; you take it with you wherever you go. It filters your reality. A negative attitude, just like the sunglasses, causes whatever situations you encounter to appear darker. A positive attitude does the exact opposite, your circumstances seem brighter.
People who attempt to outrun their problems are invariably frustrated by their inability to do so. Since your mindset is your constant companion, the only way to change your situation is to alter your outlook. Doing so enables you to find opportunities, instead of becoming mired in problems.
A positive attitude is not a magic elixir which fixes all problems. A positive attitude is not guaranteed to bring success. However, a positive attitude does greatly enhance the chances of happiness and achieving your goals.
Maintaining an attitude of gratitude fuels a positive attitude. Appreciating all of the blessings in your life keeps you focused on the good. You are able to keep things in perspective. An upbeat mindset is a continuous source of happiness.
An expectation that things will work out for the best fuels your positivity. Circumstances happen for a reason. A positive attitude enables you to discover the best path forward. The future is always in front of you. You want to be in a position to take advantage of all available opportunities.
There is a solution for every problem. A positive attitude is essential for finding the specific answers you need. People with a negative attitude are typically problem oriented. They find problems wherever they go. Therefore, they are under the impression that problems are following them.
Look for the positive elements in each situation. There is some component, regardless of how small, which can help you take the next step forward. This approach allows problems to slide off of you instead of becoming embedded.
Smiling evokes positive emotions. Smile, especially when you don’t feel like it. Those who smile are happier. Because they are happier, they smile more. It’s a continuous cycle which works to your benefit.
You attitude impacts your interaction with others. Negative people complain that others are always the causes of their misery. Treat each person you encounter with consideration, courtesy, and respect. Make “please” and “thank you” regular components of all communication. You will find that you’ll get a lot more accomplished by being nice to those you interact with.
Fear and worry create a negative mindset. Fear is paralyzing, it blocks positivity. Fear halts your forward momentum while focusing your thoughts on all that could go wrong. Fear is a dark cloud over your attitude. Fear is conquered by moving forward, one step at a time, in spite of being afraid.
Worry drains your energy fretting over all that could go wrong. Worry wastes your time. Worry multiplies as you think up more issues to worry about. Worry is minimized by replacing it with positive action.
Focus your attention on all that you can, and will do. This possibility thinking is a real attitude booster. Successful people thrive using this technique. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can’t, you won’t.
Your positive, can-do attitude will be with you wherever you go. As an invaluable asset, it will help you solve problems, and overcome obstacles.
