Daniel "Pete" Taylor

Daniel “Pete” Taylor passed away peacefully on October 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 76. He was born to William and Virginia (Hauri) Taylor on July 30, 1946. In eighth grade he met his future wife, Betsy Bahnsen, and they were sweethearts from then on. They were married on October 14, 1966. This year would have been 56 years of marriage.
Together they built their nest and added three beautiful children. His work as an ironworker helped provide for the family. He had a soft spot for maintaining relationships with his family and his closest lifelong friends from grade school.
Pete loved all things outdoors including taking his children and grandchildren fishing, playing a round of golf, or participating in local softball leagues. He was especially competitive while playing Euchre or Pinochle and was well known for being a prankster. He loved a good laugh and brought joy to many.
He retired at an early age due to a serious work injury in 1993.  He spent his days taking his bride out to eat at their favorite restaurants. He also influenced his grandchildren by pouring wisdom into them and shaping their view of how to approach life. He was their biggest fan at every game, activity or event they were involved in.
Pete packed a lot of living into his life and will be sadly missed by his wife, Betsy Taylor; children Heidi (Frank) Hoff, Eric (Jennifer) Taylor, Wendy (Gary) Miller; brother Charles (June) Taylor; sister-in-law Tricia Conway; sister-in-law Rachel Bahnsen; grandchildren Reece (Gina) Miller, Austin (fiancé Susan Duncan) Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Tatum Miller, Mason Miller, Abigail Hoff, Brady Hoff; great-grandchild Addison Miller, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers William (Barbara) Taylor, Donald “Butch” Taylor; brother-in-law John Bahnsen; his father-in-law Norman Bahnsen; and mother-in-law Bertha Bahnsen.
