Costumed cuties enjoy treats, Halloween fun at Riverview event

        There were no tricks, just treats, as Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus held its 19th Annual Trick or Treat event Oct. 27.
        Families enjoyed Trick or Treating throughout the facility with residents ready to fill the eager costumed cuties’ candy bags.
        The event ended with a Costume Contest judged by the Brenda Hellwig, Lynne Fletcher, Kim Geldien and Sandi Glauser.  Prize bags were given for Best Baby Costume (age 2 and under), Prettiest Costume, Scariest Costume and Funniest Costume. 
        Winners included:
        Best Baby: Hunter Griffin (dinosaur), first place; Penelope Garcia (unicorn), second place and Axel Clem (duck), third place.
        Prettiest: Paige Short (bubble gum machine), first place; Reagan Wilhelm (witch), second place and Danica Ring (Mad Hatter), third place.
        Scariest: Charlotte Hirt (ghost), first place; Terra Russell (Wednesday Adams), second place and Dawson Prieur (Captain America), third place.
        Funniest: Aleesia Densic (outhouse), first place; Barrett Lenke (Richard Simmons), second place and Brooklyn and Brantley Garcia (taco and fire sauce), third place.
        “Riverview would like to thank all who attended this event as well as our staff and residents who keep the flow of children moving and the smiles coming,” said Administrator Kendra M. German.
        She also thanked the Auxiliary at Riverview Healthcare Campus and their partner Thrivent, for their donation of $750 for the purchase of candy for the event, along with all those who donated candy or time to the event.
        Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus has been County owned and operated for 148 years. The facility is rated as a Medicare 5 Star Facility by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
