Annual Tree Sale
The Ottawa Soil & Water Conservation District is taking orders for a wide variety of native trees and shrubs, available through the district’s Annual Tree Sale.
Order and pay online or download a tree order form by visiting ottawaswcd.com. Those interested may also call 419-898-1595 to request an order form.
The deadline for ordering is March 29, however, supplies are limited, so early ordering is suggested.
Evergreen varieties are sold in packets of 10 and include Colorado blue spruce, Norway spruce, white cedar and bald cypress.
Fast-growing green rocket cedars, sold individually, will also be available. These cedars will grow up to 3 feet per year, are deer resistant, have a strong root system and no major insect problems. They can be used for a windbreak or privacy screen.
Also available are shellbark hickory, river birch, tulip poplar, sycamore, redbud, black walnut, red oak, swamp white oak, black cherry, American elm and red maple trees.
Back by popular demand are the Wildlife Tree Pack, Pollinator Tree Pack, and a Nut Tree Pack, which includes five different types of native trees.
Prices range from $10-$30. Proceeds raised from the program go to support district education programs throughout the year.
