19 indicted by Ottawa County Grand Jury

After a recent session, the Ottawa County Grand Jury has returned indictments against 19 persons:
-Aaron Montis has been indicted on one count of escape after he allegedly attempted to flee from officers of the Port Clinton Police Department who were arresting him on misdemeanor charges.
-Jonathan Reed, Toledo, was indicted on one count each of trafficking and possession of drugs, both third degree felonies.
-Brett Huber, Sandusky, was charged with one count each of theft and criminal trespass after allegedly entering a Portage Township business last month and stealing more than $1,000 worth of property.
- Ronnie Napper, E. Liberty, O., has been charged with felony counts of carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of firearms and misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and driving under suspension and drug possession.
-Joseph Bergman, Genoa, was indicted on two counts each of rape and gross sexual imposition, all felonies. The indictment alleges Bergman engaged in sexual activity with a functionally impaired individual in the spring of 2020.
- Dylan Hohler, Marion, O., was charged with one count of felonious assault and three misdemeanor counts of assault. Hohler is accused of assaulting four persons in three separate incidents on Put-In-Bay earlier this summer.
-Larry Beall, Tallmadge, O., has been charged with two felony counts of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug abuse instruments, failure to comply, and obstructing official business.
-Melissa Minton, Marblehead, was charged with two counts of obstructing justice after she was allegedly found harboring a convicted felon.
-Aimee Powers, Port Clinton, was indicted on one count of corrupting another with drugs. According to the Ottawa County Drug Task Force, Powers provided drugs to an individual who overdosed in June.
- Kyle Goetz, who is incarcerated in the Ottawa County Detention Facility, was indicted on two counts of drug possession and one count of tampering with evidence, all felonies. He was also indicted for possessing drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor.
-Herbert Henry Long, II, Akron, O., was indicted for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Long faces felony charges because the indictment alleges he has prior OVI convictions.
-Lajuane Ward, Detroit, Mich., has been charged with one felony count of drug possession.
-Greg Howell, Port Clinton, was indicted on theft and identity fraud charges after he allegedly took the credit card of another person.
-Travis Henry was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.
-Myles Patterson, Cleveland, O., has been indicted on charges of possession of weapons under disability, carrying concealed weapons, improper handling of firearms, and obstructing official business.
-Sammie Barnett, who is being held in the county detention facility, faces felony charges of assaulting a peace officer and misdemeanor charges of assault and resisting arrest
-Philip Terry, Euclid, O., has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated as well as felony counts of carrying concealed weapons, improper handling of firearms, and possession of weapons under disability.
-Jason Faust, who is incarcerated in the county detention facility, and Katie Orme, whose last known address is in Port Clinton, have each been indicted on charges of failure to appear after they didn’t appear for court hearings on unrelated indictments in August.
Warrants have been issued for Montis, Reed, Powers, Goetz, Henry, Barnett, Terry, Faust and Orme. The others are scheduled to make their initial appearance in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court later this month.
