Rutgers University sophomore Ashley Hitchcock (Eastwood) is the ace of the Scarlet Knights’ pitching staff, having thrown more innings than any of her teammates.
However, Rutgers plays in the Big Ten, and that makes it challenging. Hitchcock welcomes the challenge.

DJ Foos and his Burmeister Racing Team just seem to know what adjustments to make when Fremont Speedway slicks off. The Fremont, Ohio driver took the lead of the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 sprint feature on lap six and drove to the victory on Custom Metal Works Night.

Oak Harbor has the highest team batting average in the Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division at .313 (145 for 463), but at 7-10 overall and 3-3 in the conference, they aren’t exactly on track to win a championship.

Eight of the Detroit Tigers’ top 30 prospects, according to MLB.com, will start their season with the Triple A Toledo Mud Hens. The Hens are days away from taking the field for the first time since September 2019, or 610 days, and yes, the Hens are counting.
