Oregon’s Gladieux heading to NCAA championships

The field for the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships has been announced and seven members of Trine University track and field count themselves among the competitors, including sophomore Jake Gladiuex from Oregon.

Five Owens Comminity College baseball players, including sophomore infielder Andrew Flowers (Cardinal Stritch) have been named to the All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference first and second team.

Woodmore, Oak Harbor make league swap official

It  will soon be official — Woodmore and Oak Harbor will effectively swap leagues in two years.

The Woodmore school board has voted to leave the Northern Buckeye Conference and will join the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division, effective the 2023-24 school year.

Most Oak Harbor coaches favored move

By a unanimous vote of the Benton-Carroll-Salem board of education, Oak Harbor athletics have accepted the invitation to become a member of the Northern Buckeye Conference.  

Membership is now pending a vote of the NBC to ratify the admission of Oak Harbor.

Mud Hens returning to full capacity

Toledo, OH-- The Toledo Mud Hens have announced beginning Tuesday, June 8, Fifth Third Field will return to 100-percent capacity. Fans can now purchase tickets to all 2021 games.

Play Ball

The Toledo Mud Hens are teaming up with the City of Toledo and Major League Baseball to host the first-ever Play Ball event at Fifth Third Field on Sunday, June 6.  

This day of fun is part of an ongoing effort to build connections between youth sports and the Toledo community.

Comets team up to win conference title

When you talk about track and field, you usually think about it as an individual sport. Many consider it as a team sport, too.

For the Genoa boys team, it took teamwork to win the Northern Buckeye Conference title, scoring 139 points to defeat runner-up Eastwood (132).

The Owens Community College softball team won the NJCAA Region XII Division III championship after defeating Delta College, 11-2 and 10-2, in a best of three game format. 

Woodmore’s Beam takes two NBC top athlete awards

Woodmore senior Ava Beam pulled double duty during the Northern Buckeye Conference awards ceremony, earning the league’s Athlete of the Meet Award and Athlete of the Year Award.

It is the result of years of hard work running every day.
