The Ohio High School Athletic Association approved the 2021 football tournament regulations during its April board meeting that included proposals from the OHSAA staff to increase the number of playoff qualifiers and change the format of the regional playoffs.

In 12 years coaching Northwood girls soccer, Monte Bandeen’s teams are 91-78-16, but their last Toledo Area Athletic Conference championship was in 2016.

Last year, Woodmore girls soccer coach Lauren Colangelo had her only season at the helm, and she made the best of it.
She led the team to a 13-4-2 season and 8-2 in the Northern Buckeye Conference. Colangelo wanted to stay with the team this year, but had to leave for family reasons.

Last year, Clay boys soccer coach Zachary Soncrant was chosen the Alan Miller Jewelers All-Press Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 12-5 season.

On July 19, at Northwood’s Palooza in the Park, the Northwood Local School District made it official — the football stadium is now “Ken James Field” at Ranger Stadium.
James had no idea it was coming as organizers say they successfully kept it a secret until the festival.

In 2018 and 2019, Genoa won four state wrestling team championships.
The Comets took the Division III State Dual Team Tournament and the D-III individual tournament championship both seasons, setting scoring records in the process.
