Only the most trusting among the general population believe a single utterance from establishment Washington, D.C. In fact, an inverse relationship exists between an issue’s importance and the likelihood entrenched D.C. speaks about it honestly.

The financial collapse of 2008 was hard on everyone. While most people were hit by the aftershocks, minority communities faced the full force of the crisis. Why, then, would anyone want to tempt fate and pile more risk atop the system that nearly broke 15 years ago?

Wetlands worth
saving in Oregon
To the editor: I wrote a text to the mayor of Oregon about how important wetlands are to our environment.
I will also be talking about it at the June 12 meeting of city council and our resident advocate, Beth Ackerman, may also be there.
