The task force that was assembled to make recommendations to help sustain volunteer fire service in Ohio will hold a listening session Aug. 17 at Penta Career Center, 9301 Buck Road, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The meeting is free and open to the public.

An Elmore woman has been sentenced in Wood County Common Pleas Court to 22 months in prison after pleading guilty to failure to stop after an injury accident.

The Woodmore school board Wednesday approved the hiring of a new treasurer.
The board hired Lisa Cruickshank, who previously worked for the Genoa School District.
She was issued a three-year contract with a starting annual salary of $87,000 by the Woodmore board.
