Lake Township will still pursue legal action against the Village of Walbridge after a judge denied the township’s motion for a summary judgment in its dispute with the village over which entity is responsible for maintaining a section of Drouillard Road.

An exchange of emails in April between an executive with the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and the office of a state representative indicates the chamber was pushing to add language to the state budget bill that undercuts the Lake Erie Bill of Rights ballot initiative approved by Toledo voters.

The clean-up project at the former Brush Beryllium site near the Village of Luckey is about 20 percent complete, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is estimating.
As of Aug. 16, the Corps said it has removed 34,446 tons of contaminated soil from the site.

Three Toledo residents have filed a response in their lawsuit against the State of Ohio seeking a declaration from the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas that the Lake Erie Bill of Rights is enforceable in its entirety under the state constitution.

Opponents of House Bill 6 have submitted a second summary petition to the Ohio Attorney General and Secretary of State.
A previous summary petition was rejected by the attorney general, David Yost, who said he found
21 inaccuracies or omissions of required statutory language.
