Recent rain storms have forced workers at the former Brush Beryllium site to transport water off-site while the remediation project continues.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is excavating the site and removing soil contaminated with beryllium, lead, radium thorium and uranium.

Oregon Health and Welfare will be accepting applications for holiday food baskets each Monday in November from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Oregon Municipal Complex Community room, 5330 Seaman Rd., Road.
Jeff Ziviski and Heather Miller were re-elected to the Oregon City Schools board of education last Tuesday. Both were unopposed.
Ziviski received 2,544 votes, and Miller received 2,488 votes.
Oregon City Council incumbents Timothy Zale, Steve Hornyak and Kathleen Pollauf were handily re-elected to four year terms, according to unofficial results from the Lucas County Board of Elections.

Oak Harbor officials are asking for more letters of support for a proposed development along the Portage River in the hope that the display of community support will help secure state funding for the project.
