Long time Oregon City Administrator Mike Beazley is planning to retire in the next few months.
He wants to make sure the city has enough time to work through an adequate search and transition process.

Lucas County Sheriff Michael J. Navarre will appear at a Jerusalem Township Trustee meeting on May 24 at 7 p.m. to discuss the end of road patrols unless the township can raise enough funds for the service.

As I am writing this column, we are in the middle of National Police Week (May 8-14). We are lucky to work in a relatively safe area where we are supported by a great majority of the residents.

After listening to Carroll Township residents who want to vacate a ditch, the Ottawa County commissioners have scheduled a second hearing to decide their request.

Oregon is looking at a site off Pickle Road on property owned by the YMCA for a dog park.
The location is between the main driveway of the YMCA and I-280.
Administrator Mike Beazley said the park is a work in progress.

At a recent meeting of the Oak Harbor Village Council, members of American Legion Post 114 presented a Law Enforcement Certificate of Commendation to Sgt. Taylor Beck, of the Oak Harbor Police Department for her “outstanding public service benefiting our community, state and nation.”
