Members of the Ohio Expositions Commission weighed options for opening the Ohio State Fair to the public this year but decided the incidence of COVID-19 cases remains too high and the outlook for July was uncertain to stage a conventional fair.

Keep it simple.
That’s my motto as we let down out guard a bit, even if a little prematurely. Travel carefully, plan well in advance, avoid crowds as best you can, dine carryout or well-spaced outdoors. Be alert for COVID-19 traps.

Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, Elmore, will host two fine arts exhibitions during the 2021 season.
The first exhibition, titled “In the Gardens,” is a Toledo Federation of Art Societies Members’ Exclusive Juried Exhibition, which will run April 27-June 30.

Kids will learn about nature observation and national parks during Kids Days @ Hayes Earth Day event on Saturday, April 24 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, Fremont.
Activities will begin in the museum auditorium.
