National Merit Scholarship Finalist
        Oak Harbor High School student Nicholas Slagle has been named a 2024 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.
        Slagle became eligible for the distinction based on high academic achievements and exceptional PSAT scores.
        Semifinalists are among the highest-scoring program entrants in each state and represent less than one percent of the nation’s seniors.
        Nicholas now has the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships that will be awarded next spring.

Hughes inducted
        Megan Hughes, of Oregon, was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University Honors Program during the spring 2023 semester.
        Hughes, a graduate of Clay High School majoring in public relations, shared the distinction with 93 other high-achieving students.
 
Fellowship honors
        Brianna Montgomery of Gibsonburg, is among 22 first-year students at Ohio Wesleyan University selected as 2023-2024 Economics Management Fellows.
        The fellows are selected based on their high potential for success at Ohio Wesleyan and their interest in business-related studies. The competitive, four-year fellowships are awarded each fall by Ohio Wesleyan’s Department of Economics and Business and by the university's Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship.
