An investigation into stolen cars is continuing after authorities conducted a search last week at Adler’s Auto Parts and Service, 4002 Walbridge Rd, in Lake Township.
Mark Hummer, Lake Township police chief, said six vehicles and parts were removed from the site but no arrests were made or charges filed.
After securing a warrant from the Wood County Common Pleas Court, about 30 officers from the Lake Township Police Department, Perrysburg Township Police Department, Toledo Police Department, Northwood Police Department, Ohio Highway Patrol, Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and National Insurance Crime Bureau conducted a search of the premises.
The warrant was served about 9 a.m. Wednesday. Chief Hummer estimated investigators read the vehicle identification numbers on a few hundred vehicles and parts such as motors and transmissions.
A Dodge pickup truck, Jeep Patriot, Kia Soul, Maserati, Nissan Sentra and Nissan Juke were removed from the site.
Chief Hummer said the owner of the business was cooperative.
The Maserati, which had been reported stolen out of Toledo, provided a link for authorities to follow after someone in Detroit purchased parts from it, the chief said.
Chief Hummer said his department will continue the investigation with Toledo police and the Highway Patrol.
