In Sandusky County: YMCA provides financial aid for memberships and programs

        The YMCA of Sandusky County, a mission-driven non-profit organization, raised more than $105,000 in its 2023 Annual Campaign, shattering its goal by nearly 40%.
        The Annual Campaign directly supports multiple opportunities at the YMCA aimed at removing the financial barriers to individuals or families meeting health and wellness goals.
        Currently, nearly 400 households receive financial assistance, making Y memberships possible for those who otherwise would not be able to afford them. Hundreds of additional individuals receive assistance, making access to YMCA programming possible.
        These opportunities include:
        • Y For All pricing: This household income-based membership pricing model provides a sliding scale for membership rates for those households earning less than $65,000 a year.
        • Financial assistance: The YMCA’s financial assistance program removes the barriers to participation in programs like swim lessons, martial arts, preschool, youth sports, community health and more. It also provides additional assistance to those who need more support than what is provided by the Y For All membership pricing model.
        “Growing up in Fremont and Sandusky County, I saw firsthand the positive impact YMCA programming and membership had and continues to have on the youth and families in our community,” said Jeremiah Wagner, YMCA of Sandusky County CEO. “Our Y For All membership pricing and financial assistance programs help level the playing field for our families and youth, removing the financial barriers to participation.”
        Those wishing to take advantage of one of the opportunities for assistance may visit the YMCA of Sandusky County at 1000 North St. in Fremont and bring their most recent IRS 1040 form.
