Rosalinda "Rose" Hernandez

Rosalinda "Rose" Hernandez, age 60, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. She was born February 15, 1960 in Renoysa, Mexico to Jose and Tomasa (Mendoza) Zapata. Rose moved to the United States at a young age with her family. She graduated from Genoa High School and Owens Community College earning her degree in Medical Transcription. Rose met and married the love of her life, David Hernandez in May 1997 and together they raised their two children. She and David attended Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Jerome Catholic Churches. Rose was also active with a Bible Study group at St. Peter & Paul Church.

Rose was a loving wife, mother and friend cherishing time spent with her family and those special friends in her life. As her children grew up, Rose enjoyed staying involved with the activities they were a part of in school. She also enjoyed cooking many wonderful dishes for all to enjoy.

Rosalinda was preceded in death by her parents and favorite aunt, Juanita Mendoza. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, David Hernandez; daughter, Olivia Hernandez and son, Alejandro Hernandez; siblings, Jose (Robin) Zapata, Mario Zapata, Maria Elena "Nena" (Dan) Eblin, Elida (Tom) Potts and Pedro Zapata. Also left to cherish her memory are 2 very special women, Preciosa Rios and Brittany Reichow, who were like daughters to Rose and David.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Rev. Anthony Coci will preside over a Prayer Service Tuesday beginning at noon in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers during these restricted times of Covid the family requests Memorial Contribution be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Rose's memory.

In an effort to keep the Hernandez Family safe and healthy, guests are asked to wear a mask and observe Social Distancing while in attendance.

David and his family appreciate your thoughts and expressions of kindness during this very difficult time.
