Ronald N. Swope

Ronald N. Swope, 80, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Parkcliffe Assisted Living, Toledo, OH.  He was born on August 10, 1940 in Toledo, OH to Forest and Ethel (Amsler) Swope.  Ron graduated from Clay High School in 1958 where he played in the marching band.  On June 14, 1980 in Bono, OH he married Beverly Ann Dedes, and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2019.  Ron worked as a computer operator for Owens Corning Fiberglass Co. many years before retiring.  He also worked as a farmer and was an aficionado of antique tractors and going to tractor shows.  Ron enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping, TV Westerns, and his cats.  He was a big history buff, especially concerning World War II.  He was also known to be a handyman who made his own repairs and remodeled his own home.  Ron especially cared about his family.  

Ron is survived by his children, Nelson E. Swope, Forrest J. (Jackie) Swope, Barrett W. (Dawn) Swope, and Kellie C. (William) Bennett, 8 grandchildren, Abigail, Renee, Adam, Julio, Brennen, Collin, Addison, and William, great granddaughter, Aurora, and one great grandchild on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Ray (Carol) Swope.  

Private graveside services will be conducted at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH.  Memorial contributions in memory of Ron can be given to Southern Care Hospice or Parkcliffe Memory Care Facility.  Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
