Ribbon-cutting held to unveil new name of Genoa stadium
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Aug. 18 at the Genoa vs. Archbold game to unveil the new name of home of the Comets as the Jim Firestone Field at GenoaBank Stadium.
Martin P. Sutter, GenoaBank President/CEO said the bank expanded its partnership with Genoa Area Local Schools to include stadium naming rights to further strengthen their shared vision and commitment to the Comet community.
“Our children are our future and represent a beacon of hope to all of us,” Sutter said. “As a locally owned community bank, we are here to support the students, the administrators, and the overall goodwill of the Genoa Schools. We have been a long-standing supporter of the Comet community and are excited to be the naming partner for Jim Firestone Field at GenoaBank Stadium.”
Joining Sutter at the ribbon-cutting were members of the GenoaBank Board of Directors, Genoa Schools Superintendent Dennis Mock, Assistant Superintendent Cody McPherson, and Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce members.
Prior to the game kickoff, administrators, school board members and GenoaBank employees gathered on the 50-yard line of the field to celebrate and recognize GenoaBank’s hometown commitment.
“It is our hope this sponsorship will bring awareness to our local community bank with the help our business derives from the advertising, and in return, create a generation of goodwill and a continued connection to the community,” Sutter said. “We are honored to support the local Comet teams and build on the legacy of hometown community banking.”
