Random Acts of Walbridge has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Skyler Weaver, of Walbridge.
Weaver graduated a year early from Lake High School, earning honors and a GPA of 4.471. He is the son of Jodi and Ryan Weaver, both of whom are big supporters of the arts and have always encouraged him to follow his dreams.
Random Acts, a “fun, creative uplifting shopping and gathering place” located at 209 N. Main St., annually awards a scholarship to a Wood County high school graduate who embodies the values that the shop stands for:
        • An unsung hero who is kind, humble and generous
        • One who works hard to do their best, not just at school, but also at home and in their community
        • An individual who does not seek attention for their good deeds, but is deserving to be recognized by their peers and community
The scholarship is funded through sales of Random Acts logoed items, tips at the shop’s coffee/ice cream counter and donations from customers.
Weaver is lauded by teachers and community members as a smart, funny and talented young man who is never too busy to help a friend or tutor younger students. He was a member of choir, band and theater at Lake High School.
He is currently enrolled at Cuyahoga Community College, where he is pursuing an associate’s degree in Music Theory, which he hopes will take him to Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He aspires to become a music producer/composer and a professional bass player.
Look for his music online under the name “Gretooth.”
