Ralph J. Flickinger Jr.

Ralph J. Flickinger Jr., age 90, of Northwood, OH passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at his home. He was born on September 7, 1932 in Wayne, OH to Ralph and Mary (Hansen) Flickinger Sr. He later went on to serve in the United States Army. Following his discharge from the service he married Wanda Cunningham on June 25, 1955 in Toledo, OH. Ralph and Wanda raised three children and celebrated over 60 years of marriage until Wanda’s passing in 2016.

Ralph worked for C&O Railroad 44 years before he retired. He was also a gearhead and enjoyed working on cars at home in his garage. He enjoyed hunting and breeding hunting dogs.

Ralph is survived by his daughter: Donna Pettrey, grandsons: Brian Pettrey Jr., Brad (Ruth) Pettrey, great-grandchildren: Lydia, Mariah, Norah, Alexandra, Tristen, and Natalia Pettrey. Brother: Carl (Geneive) Flickinger. Friend and caregiver, Talina Toyer and Goddaughter, Amina Toyer. In addition to his wife Wanda, he was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons: Doug in 1985 and Dan in 2014. 

Ralph will be laid to rest next to Wanda, 11 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2023 in Lake Twp. Cemetery, Walbridge, OH. Memorials can take the form of contributions to: Elara Hospice. Those wishing to express a word of encouragement, share a memory or photo may do so
