Paul S. Bucklew

Paul S. Bucklew, 81, died Wednesday September 6, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was born in Holmes County, Ohio on March 23, 1942 to Raymond O. and Margaret M. (Patterson) Bucklew. He married his sweetheart, Marilyn “Sue” Schonauer on June 7, 1964 and recently celebrated their 59th anniversary.
Paul was a faithful member of Boulevard Christian Church for over 50, where he was a deacon, trustee, and volunteer. Paul worked for Buckeye Pipeline for 40 years, starting in the oilfields in Holmes County before transferring to Toledo to take a station position. He was an antique John Deere tractor enthusiast. He fully restored multiple tractors, competed in tractor pulls and won many trophies. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His younger grandchildren fondly called him Papa while the two older grandsons simply called him Pa.
Paul is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bucklew; children, Jennifer (Chris) Tober, Jeff (Valerie) Bucklew, Jay Bucklew, Joni (Roy) Sorrell, and James Bucklew; grandchildren, Phillip, Daniel (Abbi), Lucy, Lydia, Riley, and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Laura; and brother, Wayne.
Friends will be received at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 Main St, Walbridge, Ohio on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM. A funeral will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Followed by burial in Lake Township Cemetery.
