Park district plan topic of open house

The public is invited to an open house focused on the future strategic direction of the Park District of Ottawa County.
Set for 6-7:30 p.m. on Sept.11 at The Arts Garage, 317 W Perry St. in Port Clinton, the open house will feature informational graphic poster boards, opportunity to provide input and comment, and one-on-one time with leaders from the Park District of Ottawa County and Environmental Design Group.
The park district approved the awarding of a contract to Environmental Design Group to facilitate the development of a strategic plan at its May 21 meeting.
EDG will facilitate the strategic plan development and the park district will drive the plan development. A 20-member committee with representation from throughout Ottawa County met in August at the Oak Harbor Public Library to share their input and ideas for the district and provide feedback on how the district is performing.
The strategic plan is expected to be complete by December, and a public survey garnering input will be available later this month via www.ottawacountyparksoh.org and www.facebook.com/parkdistrictofottawacounty
