Mercy – St. Charles recognized for Mobile Meals partnership

        Mercy Health is partnering with Mobile Meals of Toledo to make sure the most vulnerable members of our community are able to maintain a healthy diet.
        Rochelle Rodgers, volunteer coordinator for Mobile Meals, recently visited Mercy Health - St. Charles Hospital to recognize the team for their efforts in ensuring that meals were made available to members of the Oregon community. Craig Albers, president of Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital, accepted the recognition, which acknowledged St. Charles as a pickup location for Mobile Meals routes in the area.
        “St. Charles Hospital has been a meal pick up site since 1968 and there are four routes that depart from the Navarre Avenue location, distributing meals to an average of 30 clients,” Rodgers said. “The meal pickup site at St. Charles Hospital is integral and invaluable to Mobile Meals’ serving the Oregon community.”
        Serving the community for more than 50 years, Mobile Meals of Toledo offers home-delivered meals and wellness checks for people of all ages and economic levels. The organization serves clients who may be homebound, have limited mobility, and are recovering from surgery or injury, or those unable to cook, shop, or maintain a healthy diet.
        “Health and wellness begin with what we are putting into our bodies and we are proud to be a longtime partner of an organization like Mobile Meals, whose mission is to provide delicious and healthy meal choices to our community,” Albers said. “For more than 50 years, St. Charles has been a partner with Mobile Meals and we are excited to continue to work with this valuable organization.”
        The Mobile Meals kitchen is onsite at the Mercy College of Ohio campus on Jefferson Avenue and has had a longstanding partnership with Mercy Health. Meals are prepared in the local kitchen and delivered two times a week.
