Poll confusion
To the editor: Gov. Mike DeWine recently issued a statement that Health Director Dr. Amy Acton will order the election polls closed as a health emergency.
The Lucas County Board of Elections posted a sign stating: Per Ohio Secretary of State Directive 2020-06, Election Day Voting has been postponed until June 2, 2020.
On March 27, Gov. DeWine signed into law that the primary voting will be by absentee voting only and that ballots must be received by April 27, 2020. This is in conflict with the plan laid out by Gov. DeWine, Lt. Gov.John Husted and SOS Frank La Rose (June 2 date).
These actions confuse voters due to:
1.) Changing dates and methods of voting.
2.) Confusion caused by the virus.
3.) The news media have been reporting that Joe Biden has enough delegates to win the Democratic nomination.
4.) No mention that issues are on the ballot (school levies and income tax levies).
Once again our legislature has failed us by avoiding the issues such as the unconstitutionality of school funding, EdChoice and school report cards.
Contact your state representatives and voice your opinion.
