James L. Cox

James L. Cox age 77 of Northwood, Ohio passed away on October 7, 2022 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. James was born to Dwight and Helen (Fleitz) Cox on December 20, 1944. He was a 1962 graduate of Clay High School and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. James was a union Boilermaker with the Local 85. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #888 and the N.R.A. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. As a member of Pheasants Forever, he raised and released pheasants in the area to help re-establish the population. James hunted for food not trophy and he loved to cook. James trained and raised his dogs for hunting and home. He had an American Cocker, an English Pointer and other pedigreed pups in his care over the years. James loved most to spend time with his family, play Euchre and watch The Ohio State University Buckeyes.

James is survived by his daughter Patricia Osborne; grandchildren 2nd Lt. Anastasia Osborne U.S. Army and Cody Osborne; sister Rev. Mary Ann Miller and step-sister Loleta Harrington; nephews Paul Cox Jr., James (Tammy) Cox and Bryan (Barbara) Cox, Paul (Angela) Miller, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Cox Sr.

A memorial gathering will be held on October 29, 2022 from 10 until 1 p.m. at the Good Will Spiritualist Church 300 E. Breckman in Walbridge, Ohio. A Memorial Service will begin at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the charity of your choice.
