Harris-Elmore fire gets new Rescue/Pumper

After two years of research, the Harris-Elmore Fire Department purchased a 2020 Sutphen Rescue/Pumper firetruck. The truck carried a price tag of $574,000. A FEMA grant covered $466,500 of the purchase price. Fire Chief Jim Wilburn said “This is a huge award for this community. Receiving the FEMA grant saved the community a large amount of money.” Pictured, Harris-Elmore firefighters Jared Overmyer and Josh Haar look over several of the controls on the fire department’s new Sutphen Recue/Pumper.
