GPA - Terra State cancels annual KidsCollege summer program

        Terra State Community College has canceled the annual weeklong summer KidsCollege program due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
        The program has brought academic enrichment to more than 5,000 kids over the last 28 years. College staff are working on a new program called “Titan Kids Club.” More details on the classes and schedule will be announced in the near future.
 
“Thank You” parade
        Eastwood Schools will present a “Thank You Eastwood Community Parade” Tuesday, May 26 at 5:30 p.m.
        District staff members will be parading through the Eastwood communities to say, “Thank you for all your support during this unprecedented time!”
        Families are encouraged to gather outside on the porch, in the yard or in open community space along the parade route to see the Eastwood staff for an end-of-school-year celebration.
        Everyone is reminded to maintain social distancing for the safety of all families.
 
TMA Teen Leaders Virtual Talent Show
        Toledo Museum of Art’s Teen Leaders program is organizing a Virtual Talent Show for Toledo’s teen artists and creators. The talent show will take place on the Museum’s Instagram account, @toledomuseum, on June 6.
        To participate, teens should submit a photo or video (no longer than two minutes) of their talent by direct message on Instagram or using the hashtag #TMATeens. Submissions are due no later than Sunday, May 31. Any submission must come from a public profile to be eligible. Talents may include music, spoken word, dance, visual art, fashion, comedy or other creative outlets.
        All submissions will be entered in a random raffle to win a $50 value gift package from the TMA store.
        The Teen Leaders program (previously called Teen Apprentices) was established in 2015 to increase youth attendance at the Museum and provide real-world experiences, in partnership with the Toledo School for the Arts. With the support of The Hearst Foundations, the Greater Toledo Community Foundation, the LaValley Foundation and the Toledo Rotary Club Foundation, the program expanded to include participants from a variety of schools throughout Toledo in 2020.
