Gordon D. Wend

Gordon D. Wend, age 69, of Woodville, OH passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Bay Park Hospital in Oregon, OH.  He was born on September 29,1951 to Robert Wend and Donna (Holder) Henderly in Toledo, OH.  Gordon was raised in Genoa, OH by Richard Henderly and his mother, Donna.  He graduated from Genoa High School in 1969, and later played football for the University of Toledo.  On October 7, 1995 in Woodville, OH, he married Jennifer (Jasco) R. Fisher-Wend.  Gordon proudly represented the Ford Motor Company for over 25 years selling cars at Kistler, Genoa, and most recently Brondes Ford Maumee.  He genuinely valued the relationships built with co-workers and customers.
Gordon was most proud to volunteer as former President for Woodmore Athletic Boosters, a member of the Woodmore Paint Crew, and involved in the community ice-skating rink for the youth in Woodville.  He was an avid duck hunter and most of all enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 25 years: Jennifer, father: Richard Henderly of Perrysburg, OH children: Jeanne Wend of Lehigh Areas, FL, Allison (Eric) Sitter of Temperance, MI, Andrew (Anna) Wend of Delaware, OH, Dana (Kelly) Wend of Temperance, MI, grandchildren: Madison, Colette (Ben), Ariel (Antonio), McKenna, Grace, Chase, Dalton, Jackson, Beckett, Andrew, Amelia, Harper, great granddaughter: Lila Jane, sister: Kelly (Karl) Douglass of Doylestown, PA and brother: Kurt (Stephanie) Henderly of Rossford, OH.  Gordon was preceded in death by: mother: Donna Henderly, and stepsons: Jarrod and Juston Fisher.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and entire ICU staff at Bay Park Hospital for their compassionate and loving care given to Gordon.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no funeral services at this time but a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Woodville, OH. In lieu of flowers memorials may take the form of contributions to: Woodmore Athletics Boosters or charity of the donor’s choice.
