Genoa Legion Band to perform at “Music Under the Stars”

        The Genoa Legion Band will take the stage of the historic Toledo Zoo Amphitheater Sunday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is part of the Zoo’s ongoing Music Under the Stars concert series, held Sundays through Aug. 11. 13abc anchor, Tony Geftos will serve as emcee.
         The Amphitheatre will open at 6:30 p.m. Zoo parking rates and policies apply. Zoo admission does not apply, as concerts happen after Zoo hours.
        The Legion Band has a storied history. Founded by returning Civil War veterans 50 years before there was an American Legion, the band has been affiliated with the Genoa Post 324 since 1932. It is the oldest Legion Band in Ohio.
        Band members, who range in age from 18-85, practices every Monday, April-October, from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Genoa Legion.
        Throughout the year, they perform at patriotic and community events.
