Garden club flower show, officers installed

The Happy Hobby Garden Club (HHGC) members staged a Single Club Flower Show at Allen Township Park.
Colleen Maher won Best of Show for her garden rose entry.
Also at the show, which was held concurrently with the club’s monthly meeting, officers were installed as follows: Franny Cranfield, president; Susan Lowe, vice president; Colleen Maher, secretary and Annette LeForce, treasurer.
HHGC is Ottawa County's only Ohio Association of Garden Clubs garden club. For more info, call 419-202-7158.

Shotgun recovered
During the 2020 waterfowl season, State Wildlife Officer Reid Van Cleve, assigned to Ottawa County, received a call from a hunter asking if anyone had reported finding a lost firearm.
The caller had been hunting at Little Portage Wildlife Area that morning and forgot his shotgun when he left. Officer Van Cleve stated that he had not received a call but would go look for it. He immediately drove to the wildlife area and was able to locate and secure the firearm. The hunter retrieved his shotgun the following day.
