Chippewa under new ownership

Chippewa Golf Club has been locally owned for nearly 100 years and that tradition will continue for the foreseeable future. Local couple, Karl and Roberta Orians, has purchased the course as of March 5.

Karl and Roberta are longtime Curtice residents, neighbors to the golf course, and avid golf enthusiasts. The local couple looks to continue the immense improvements that long-time owners Dean Stroh and late-wife Lil-Mar made to the public golf club. Most recently, Chippewa Golf Club has been rated the 14th best public course in Ohio by GolfPass.

The new ownership team has deep history with the course. Roberta worked in the snack bar at Chippewa Golf Club in 1974. The couple’s children both worked at the golf club under Dean and Lil-Mar Stroh’s ownership. Also, Karl and Roberta were involved in developing the new driving range expansion that took place in 2013.

“Chippewa Golf Club is a staple in Northwest Ohio and the new owners are committed to maintaining and improving the course. As farmers, the new owners have a deep understanding and love for the land. They are dedicated to making Chippewa Golf Club a place that generations of families can enjoy together,” a press release states.
