After a six-year hiatus, Toledo Federation of Art Societies is re-establishing their juried exhibition of regional artists, returning to the original focus of the organization’s exhibit – to provide a professional exhibition opportunity to the artists who comprise the TFAS membership.
“TFAS100+3: Juried Members’ Exhibit” opens Friday, Oct. 9 at 20 North Gallery, 18 N. St. Clair St. in downtown Toledo.
The exhibit is comprised of 74 artworks created by 55 artists from all reaches of the eligible Toledo-area/Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan regions. Communities represented by one or more artists include those in Toledo, Genoa, Perrysburg, Bowling Green, Bloomville, Bryan, Fostoria, Grand Rapids, Maumee, Portage, Swanton, Sylvania and Van Wert, Ohio and Erie, Flat Rock, Lambertville, Monroe and Temperance, Michigan.
The exhibit was judged by Brian Byrn, director and curator of the Midwest Museum of American Art in Elkhart, Indiana. Exhibit dates are Oct. 9-Dec. 26 at 20 North Gallery, 18 N. St. Clair St., (Downtown) Toledo.
Toledo Mud Hens/Hensville is hosting a free, public Opening Reception & Award Ceremony Oct. 9 from 6-9 p.m. in Hensville Park at Fleetwood’s Beer Garden. The award ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Social distancing and required masking at the outdoor, open-air venue, will ensure that the event will not only meet, but exceed all Ohio and Toledo-Lucas County health and safety mandates on gatherings to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Event attendees can tour the exhibit in the gallery, located just across the street, from 7 – 9 p.m. To maintain safety protocols, that night the gallery will be issuing free timed tickets for small groups to enter in 15-minute intervals. From Oct. 10-Dec. 26, the gallery will be open by call-ahead appointment during its regular hours, Wednesday-Saturday, from noon-4 p.m.
Contact the gallery at 419-241-2400 or info@20northgallery.com for more details.
