Betty M. Rhubright

Betty M. Rhubright, 96, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away March 4, 2023, just shortly before her 97th birthday. She was born on March 5, 1926, in Toledo. She was raised by Earl & Catherine Traver and was a 1944 graduate of Olney School.

She lived her whole life in the Toledo area, raising her family and working for the Lake School District for 28 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, in Toledo, for over 80 years and engaged in church activities, including as a Luther League Advisor, and Girl Scout Troop Leader, both for over 20 years. While retired she enjoyed traveling across the United States and was known for her love of animals.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who could change the world with her eyes. You knew exactly what needed to happen, without her saying a word! Working with those in school, she gained great respect because she believed in showing respect to others.

Betty is survived by her children, H. Kent Rhubright, Cathy (Chuck) Schaeufele, Gary (Cindy) Rhubright and Paul Rhubright, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and sister, Beverly Hazel. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Traver and brother, Keith Cramer.

Betty’s family invites all to gather for visitation on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM, at the Walker Funeral Home – Walbridge Chapel, 701 N. Main St., Walbridge, Ohio.
