Rain Barrel Workshop
The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District (Lucas SWCD) and Rain Garden Initiative are partnering with the City of Perrysburg and the 577 Foundation to offer a Make & Take Rain Barrel Workshop this fall. Rain barrels are an easy and efficient way to manage storm water, while also saving money and resources.
The workshop will be held Monday, Sept. 13 from 5-7 p.m. at the 577 Foundation, 577 E. Front St., Perrysburg.
To register, visit the 577 Foundation’s website at 577foundation.recdesk.com/Community/Home. Under the “Classes & Events” tab, filter by “Nature.”
The cost is $35 per barrel, which includes all materials and necessary tools. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Participants will need a vehicle large enough to transport the rain barrel home. The barrel measures approximately 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. Barrels are made from recycled food-grade 55-gallon drums that are donated by local companies.
