At the request of the county engineer’s office, the Ottawa County commissioners have extended the date they had set to complete the vacating of Otto Pfeiffer Ditch.
Property owners along the ditch were issued notices Aug. 15 of the commissioners’ decision.

The Wood County Common Pleas Court didn’t err when it sentenced a man convicted of arson to community control and to register as an arson offender, according to an appellate court.

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has granted a request by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio to stay PUCO’s four ongoing investigations into FirstEnergy’s Ohio utilities and House Bill 6.
The decision by the PUCO postpones its investigations for six months.

Two Siamese cats were found roaming in the Lakemont Community near Tracy Road on Sunday and Monday. As of The Press’s deadline on Thursday, the owner has not been found. Local residents are temporarily caring for them.
